Job Overview
The department is looking for an enthusiastic leader to operationally support a highly specialised urology service within DSU2 Theatres on the Frimley site. This is a growing service so requires the applicant to have a broad set of organisational skills and the opportunity to oversee the department in the Band 7's absence.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to use your excellent clinical and evidenced based knowledge and skills to actively contribute to service development across the perioperative pathway, identifying opportunities and supporting individuals in the delivery of high quality patient care.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
After a suitable period of orientation and training, the ability to organise own workload with regards to assessing patient needs, planning, implementation and evaluation of a programme of care which is evidenced based, utilising all available resources, taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender, and cultural background and ensure involvement with the patient, family and carer.

Essential criteria
1. NMC / HCPC registration
2. Diploma (HE) Operating Department Practice (or NVQ equivalent)
3. 2 years Theatre Experience
Desirable criteria
1. Leadership Course
2. Nursing/ Perioperative degree or working towards a degree
3. Recognised post registration teaching certificate/ Diploma
4. Diploma (HE) Operating Department Practice (or NVQ equivalent)
5. Formal mentorship / assessment qualification e.g. completion of the Trust associate mentorship programme.
6. Supervision of Learning in the Clinical Environment (SLICE)
7. City & Guilds 730 FAETC ENB 998 or A1 or D32/33 or Cert of Ed.
8. Academically accredited post registration qualification in Theatre/Perioperative Practice or relevant experience.
