A prestigious and long-established York-based law firm is seeking a Head of Corporate to lead and develop a new corporate department. This is a unique opportunity for a senior solicitor, legal director, or partner to take on a high-profile leadership role within a highly respected and growing practice.
This newly created Director-level position offers a significant platform to shape and drive the firm’s corporate practice, working within an organisation known for its commitment to excellence, innovation, and client service. With a strong presence in North and West Yorkshire, the firm is looking for an ambitious leader who can capitalise on existing relationships and drive further growth.
The Role
As Head of Corporate, you will:
* Establish and lead a dedicated corporate law department, setting strategic direction and driving the firm’s corporate offering.
* Play a key role in the firm’s senior leadership team, influencing business strategy and future growth plans.
* Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate clients across sectors such as technology, healthcare, manufacturing, and financial services.
* Provide high-quality legal advice across the full spectrum of corporate transactions, including M&A, private equity, restructuring, and corporate governance.
* Lead and mentor a team, ensuring professional development and fostering a high-performance culture.
* Actively engage in business development initiatives to expand the firm’s corporate client base across Yorkshire and beyond.
The Candidate
This role is ideally suited to a Senior Corporate Solicitor, Legal Director, or Partner looking to take the next step in their career with an ambitious and forward-thinking firm.
The ideal candidate will:
* Have significant experience in corporate law, gained at a leading regional, national, or international firm.
* Possess strong leadership skills and the ability to build and develop a high-performing corporate team.
* Demonstrate a commercial mindset with the ability to drive business growth and client development.
* Have strong connections within the Yorkshire corporate market, ideally with an existing client following or demonstrable ability to generate new business.
