About the Role The purpose of the role is to undertake enforcement activities seeking compliance associated within the specialist legislative area of Animal Health and Welfare and Animal Feed. Representing the Team Manager as required and leading on operational and strategic projects as directed. Assisting the Team Manager in the operational management of staff and resources. To be the lead officer with regard to the enforcement of Animal health and welfare legislation ensuring that officers and the service maintains current awareness of case law and best practice. Leading and providing training where appropriate on procedures and policies associated with the specialist area and looking for continual improvement to reduce the burden on resources. About You To apply for this post, you must: Substantial evidence of continuous professional development to a specialist level in a law enforcement, legal process and regulatory compliance. Substantial demonstrable experience in the regulatory compliance sector AND Substantial demonstrable experience in delivering a range of detailed or complex compliance advice and enforcement; providing a high level of expertise in a trading standards related function. Specialist knowledge of the legislative framework relating to Animal Health The ability to communicate effectively; to assimilate information rapidly and present it orally or in writing clearly, unambiguously and concisely. Significant experience in supervision, training and mentoring staff. Ability to show leadership when dealing with conflicting demands, remaining calm under pressure. Proven track record of leading on projects and presenting findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders. You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
