The role of the Kitchen Porter is to support the Chef's in running various stations of a busy new kitchen in a 110 cover new restaurant concept. The food style is very high quality freshly prepared small plates with a Mexican inspiration. Food is served family style, and is cooked/served fresh to order with plates going to tables as they are ready with a quick turnaround, based on daily preparation in advance. You must be willing to be flexible in assisting in all aspects of the running of a kitchen including cleaning, washing pots and tableware, organising taking in deliveries, loading dishwashers, fetching food from fridges, whilst ensuring that the highest standards are met. This is an opportunity to learn how a busy kitchen runs, and progression into a line chef role is on offer if you desire. This will be a fast paced kitchen with high standards, so you must be prepared for this style of kitchen. Hourly rate of £11.44 plus Tronc (service charge), target hourly rate around £12.50.
