Mō te tūnga | About the role
Based at Hillmorton Hospital, Kennedy is a 6-bed inpatient unit providing specialist medical withdrawal management and stabilisation for people across the South Island seeking treatment for alcohol and/or substance dependence.
We are seeking an engaged and motivated Registered Nurse, who will work collaboratively with a consumer-centered approach to add value, expertise, and energy to this stable and cohesive team.

You will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, along with a commitment to quality patient care and education. Building successful relationships with consumers and their families/whānau will be key to your success in this role and will enable you to achieve optimum outcomes. You will be reliable, conscientious, and have a genuine interest in this exciting specialty within mental health.
Previous experience in mental health, and specific experience working with alcohol and drug addictions is desirable.
This is a fixed term 0.94 FTE role available until 24/11/2025, that follows a 4 days on, 2 days off roster pattern (encompassing a rotating roster of morning, afternoon, and night shifts).
