Job overview
An opportunity has arisen within the Medical Equipment Library within the University of Derby and Burton Hospitals, to support the wards and departments when they need to find equipment that they need to support the essential care to our Acute Hospital's Patients.
The role is part time 15 hours a week each (averaged over the month) and initially this will be normal working days 8:00am - 4:00pm including weekends, although we would like you to be flexible as to when you could work, as we work weekends too, and cover for holidays if required.
Please note that this post is NOT a driving role.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high quality and efficient Equipment Carriage service across the UHDB:
* To collect equipment/medical devices from wards and departments.
* Ensure equipment/medical devices are cleaned and decontaminated and in working order.
* Support clinical areas in ensuring medical devices are available on the shelf in the equipment library.
* Liaise with clinical engineering if any medical devices are requiring repairs.
* Liaise with clinical departments when demand for devices are required.
* Ensure Equipment Library systems are effectively maintained and monitored consistently across the organisation.
* Provide reports on a regular basis and act as a help-line facility for managers and staff.
* Assist in the co-ordination of evaluations of new products for Trust wide purchasing contracts.
* Support the organisation of Corporate Equipment training.

* Good standard of general education, numeracy skills, reading and writing ability.

* Physically fit and of good health to be able to collect medical devices from the clinical areas.
