The Role :
As a Meeting and Events Senior Porterr, you are responsible for supervising Meeting and Events operations to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Meeting and Events Operations Supervisor will also be required to delegate tasks in line with function sheets and assist with meeting departmental targets. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
* Supervise Meeting and Events operations event area set up
* Communicate and delegate in line with daily function sheets
* Able to work in manual handling environment and work with heavy equipment including staging and portable dancefloors
* Welcome guests in a polite and friendly manner
* Follow cash handling procedures
* Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
* Ensure cleanliness of work areas
* Plan, organise and control the daily operations
* Ensure compliance of brand standards
* Represent needs of the team
* Assist Meeting and Events Manager with training and developing the team
* Assist with annual and mid-year appraisals with team members under your responsibility
* Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
* Comply with local licensing laws
* Be environmentally aware
* Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
The Role:
The Meeting and Events Operations Senior Porter is there to lead the Meeting and Events team with the set up of of furniture, tableware, staging and dancefloors in all areas of the meeting and events departments which includes the Grand Ballroom, Robert Burns Suite and small meeting areas throughout the hotel. This will include deleagtion of tasks to team members in the department, this was also be a hands on role leading the team by example.
The shift pattern can vary week to week and will include a mixture of Early, Late and Night shifts in line with the business needs. This role will also require flexibiliy for weekend working.
It would be beneficial for candidates to have previous hotel/events operations experience.
