Role: Fire Engineer Location: Remote/Hybrid. Presence in the UK/Ireland is required (Office presence is required once every 2/3months. Locations available in Manchester, London, Preston, Leeds & York) Employment Type: Full-time Salary: GBP 40k - 60k depending on experience, with performance-based bonuses Role Overview As a Fire Engineer, you'll provide expert guidance to client design teams on fire safety aspects in building designs, focusing on compliance with statutory requirements, prescriptive guidance, and enhancing safety standards. You'll be reporting to Senior Engineers or above. This role involves overseeing projects, while collaborating closely with project teams and clients. Key Responsibilities Offer technical advice on fire safety compliance in building designs. Develop calculations, drawings, technical reports, and strategies. Development of fee proposals & commercial understanding in terms of profit, risk etc. Use computer software such as CFD modeling, evacuation modeling etc. for fire safety techniques. Maintaining in-depth knowledge of fire design legislation (e.g., Building Regulations, ADB, BS 9991, BS 9999, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order etc.). Manage small to medium projects. Gathering and analyzing project data. Attend and lead design team meetings. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff. Promote adherence to high standards and best practices in fire safety design. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients. Accumulate CPD hours for future CEng application. Qualifications Required Relevant engineering degree. Minimum 2 years of working on fire engineering projects Strong technical competence, time management, teamwork, and proficiency in fire engineering software.
