Main duties of the job
To work with the EPMA lead pharmacist for the operational management of the Trust's Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) System.

Job description
Job responsibilities
You will proactively lead, develop, coordinate and deliver any aspect of pharmacy education or training on how members of the Pharmacy Team interact with the EPMA and Pharmacy Stock Control System to perform their duties.
The successful candidate will support the ongoing management of various pharmacy/medicines management IT applications including EMIS (ASCribe) or JAC (Well Sky), FMD, Powergate and Refine/Define, generating reports as necessary.
They will also continue to work as a Pharmacy Technician in a leadership role in the dispensary checking prescriptions and dispensing.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Qualifications
Essential
1. BTEC/Level 3 NVQ in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent clinical qualification recognised by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
2. Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Desirable
1. Project management or IM& T related qualification
2. Education or training qualification
3. Accredited Checking Technician
4. A1 NVQ assessor
Experience
Essential
1. Hospital pharmacy or equivalent experience as a qualified pharmacy technician.
2. Experience of databases, data analysis and reporting in particular, familiarity with EPMA systems.
3. Experience in training others/staff mentoring.
4. Experience of writing Standard Operating Procedures, policies, detailed user information documentation, guidelines and protocols and monitoring their implementation.
Desirable
1. Mental health pharmacy experience.
2. Pharmacy IT management experience/IT networking infrastructures and technical experience.
3. EPMA management experience
4. Experience of working in the NHS
Knowledge
Essential
1. Knowledge of prescribing and medicines supply processes.
2. Knowledge of medicines and their uses and an awareness of the implications of drug-related errors.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of patient's own drugs (POD) and self-medication.
2. Knowledge of use of medicines within hospital and community settings.
Skills

1. Able to identify and act on potential drug-related anomalies and assess the urgency of medicines-related issues.
2. Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, where tasks might require adjustment due to variable workload and where there might be competing demands or deadlines.
