Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative Registered Nurse for the role of Clinical Educator for the Cardiology ward within the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. This post has been created to lead and develop services to facilitate and enhance the Cardiology staff development. This post is based in clinical practice and involves working directly with patients, relatives and clinicians.
The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for nursing and medical education, training and research. The Trust comprises of four hospitals - the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospitals and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford and the Horton Hospital in Banbury.
The Clinical Educator for Cardiology ward will provide inspirational leadership for nurse-led care in Cardiology and staff development within the Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) NHS Trust. The post holder will be an expert nurse within Cardiology, leading and developing practice, promoting and improving quality of care for patients.
The post holder will be responsible for providing high level expert advanced practice through leadership, consultation, clinical advice, teaching and mentorship/support for staff.

Job responsibilities
The successful applicant will be a registered nurse with extensive experience with the field of Cardiology. The ability to initiate, sustain and evaluate change is essential.
Person Specification
Quals
* Registered Nurse (Part 1. 8. 12 or 15 of register depending on area of practice) or National certification in area of Practice.
* Previous cardiac experience - minimum 2 years.
* Practice Assessor training.
* Experience in teaching.
* Previous band 6 experience.
* Proof of education at level 7 - with cardiac medicine relevance.
* Evidence of teaching and education qualification.
