We are looking for a creative Social Media Officer, who is passionate about content and has previous experience working in a professional environment. The successful candidate will will create, post, source and schedule content for the University’s social media channels, to reflect the University’s objectives and communications and marketing plans, identity and brand. You will support day to day community management, by monitoring channels and responding to direct messages as required and work with a range of people across the University to create relevant and engaging content.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Create, post, plan gather and schedule content on University of Hull social media accounts to engage audiences and build the University’s profile and reputation. This includes writing and repurposing content for use on different channels and briefing / sourcing visual content and providing live coverage at some University events. You will do this in accordance with the University’s identity and brand, and broader communications and marketing objectives and plans, and share this with the Social Media Manager for input.
2. Support day to day community management by monitoring channels and responding to direct messages as appropriate, in consultation with the wider Social Media team where required
3. Monitoring social media feeds to identity and recommend opportunities to engage with the wider University of Hull community.
4. Work with staff, students, alumni and partners to advise on and coordinate social media activity such as take over days, events, live streams etc, respond to incoming queries about channel management, share best practice, information and lessons learned. This is likely to be through face to face or Teams meetings and email correspondence.
5. Monitor and evaluate the impact of social media activity, report these findings to the social media team, and beyond, make improvements based on these findings.
