Nutrition and Dietetics Team - NELFT (North East London Foundation Trust)
NELFT's Barking, Dagenham, Havering, and Redbridge Nutrition and Dietetics team is excited to announce an opportunities for Band 6 Senior Community Dietitian to join our expanding Dietetic team. We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and confident professional to contribute to our growing team's success, delivering exceptional care across the mentioned localities.
Location: Barking & Dagenham
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
1. Dietetics Assessment and Treatment : Provide dietetic assessment and treatment across Barking & Dagenham community and support the wider Redbridge and Havering teams.
2. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with dietitians and Multi-disciplinary Team teams to improve nutritional care for patients across Barking, Dagenham, Redbridge, and Havering.
3. Patient-Centered Care: Demonstrate sensitivity, non-judgment, and professionalism in dealing with patients. Provide advice in a considerate manner.
4. Professional Development: Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and training opportunities
5. Communication and Time Management : Possess excellent communication and time management skills to efficiently coordinate tasks and interactions with patients, carers, and fellow health professionals.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,551 to a maximum of £5,735 pro rata for part time).

Essential criteria
1. BSc in Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent level 5 qualification.
2. Registration with HCPC
3. Member of the British Dietetic Association
4. Membership with PENG or BAPEN
Experince

5. Minimum of 2 years experience working in community dietetics
6. Experience of complex enteral feeding & nutrition support
7. Evidence of the dietetic management of a wide range of complex clinical conditions, particularly long-term conditions and neurological conditions.
8. Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams: nutrition nurses, district nurses, nutrition team, speech & language team Community/Specialist Nurses, GP’s, Health Care Assistants
