About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, passionate, and committed leader to work within the role of Head of Service, Performance and Governance.
As part of our Dorset Children Thrive Model and Dorset's Partnership's ten-year plan Children Young People and Families Plan 2023-2033, we are enhancing our senior leadership and aligning Heads of Service alongside our challenges and priorities. Our Commissioning & Partnerships function is key to our continued success, enabling us to respond effectively and reflect our ambition for children, young people, and families.
This service area brings together strategic expertise to governance, policy, performance, and change. This combined focus will ensure the Children's Directorate is well organized in its strategic planning and has oversight in identifying areas of national policy change and supporting executive and corporate directors leading our response.
You'll provide strategic direction to all our transformation programmes, including digital transformation, and work with the Corporate Directors in identifying areas of improvement and supporting developments. You will apply your analytical skills and leadership for high-quality service delivery of our dedicated children's business intelligence and performance team, which includes our Children's First Pathfinder performance and evaluation.
You'll be an experienced and exceptional leader, providing direction, oversight, and governance of the Strategic Alliance for Children and Young People, communicating and engaging with partners to drive progress to meet our shared ambitions for children and families.
You'll find dedicated and like-minded colleagues across directorates and our partners; colleagues who care deeply about providing and continuously improving the best outcomes possible to enable every child and young person to reach their full potential.
The ideal candidate will:
* have a strong track record in leading performance management and change
* demonstrate strategic vision and be able to translate complex priorities into actions
* demonstrate leadership experience in governance and policy
* have experience in strategic coordination, planning, and effective delivery
* have an innovative and dynamic approach to introduce new ways of working that improve outcomes for children and families
* have a well-established reputation in building and maintaining effective corporate and external partnerships
