Qair’s Liverpool office is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects. This role offers flexibility to accommodate a multi-contract approach as we scale our operations.
Location: Liverpool City Centre Office (with site-based travel as required)

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
* Develop the Construction Phase Plan in collaboration with subcontractors, detailing schedules and milestones.
* Coordinate logistics with contractors and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
* Conduct pre-construction site assessments and manage site setup, including temporary facilities, access roads, and laydown areas.
Site Management
* Lead and manage on-site subcontractor teams, ensuring efficient workflows and timely completion.
* Oversee all construction activities, including:
* Groundworks, trenching, and structure installation.
* Module mounting and electrical works.
* Site reinstatement and final handover.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
* Collaborate with Engineering to develop the Risk Register during pre-construction and ensure a smooth handover to the construction phase.
* Act as Principal Contractor, ensuring full compliance with UK health, safety, and environmental regulations, including CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations.
* Implement and enforce health & safety plans, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS).
* Promote a strong safety culture, conducting regular toolbox talks, site inspections, and incident reporting.
Quality Assurance & Reporting
* Ensure all work is delivered to the highest standards and in line with Employer Requirements and industry best practices.
* Provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager, including cost tracking and risk assessments.
Resource Management
* Monitor project progress, identifying and addressing potential overruns.
* Optimize resource allocation across manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency.
Requirements
* Proven experience managing large-scale solar farm construction projects.
* Strong knowledge of UK construction practices, regulations, and standards, including CDM compliance.
* Excellent leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
