We have a highly rewarding opportunity for a seasoned residential care practitioner or senior support worker with team leader experience looking for an opportunity to make a genuine impact on a young person's journey.
If you are passionate and enjoy seeing the direct impact your experience and knowledge can bring to a young person then this opportunity is worth exploring. Working with the local authority to support the delivery of care to a young person you will have a varied week. Whether it is engaging the support workers to identify activities and interests of the young person or ensuring that all elements of the care management plan are being implemented no two days will be the same.
An overview of responsibilities include
1. Taking direction and guidance from key stakeholders in relation to all aspects of the care of the individual checking and assessing the implementation alongside social workers, team managers from the local authority
2. Providing all necessary paperwork and reporting to the confirmed contact/s at the local authority
3. To be aware and supportive of suicidal tendencies and self harming and be able to support if needed.
4. To be prepared to use de escalation techniques at times of heightened behaviours.
5. To provide emotional support to the vulnerable young person in your care.
6. To be understanding of traumas suffered and help the young person to thrive in the current setting.
7. To ensure all policies and procedures set by the council in times of crisis are followed
