Senior Flexible Pipeline Engineer
Location: Basingstoke, UK
Worker Status: Outside IR35 and PAYE considered
Position Overview
The Senior Engineer, Flexible Pipe will be tasked with supporting global offshore deepwater projects, specifically focusing on unbonded flexible pipe systems. The role spans multiple project phases, including feasibility, FEED (Front End Engineering Design), and execution, ensuring that the flexible pipe systems meet all engineering, project, and safety requirements.
Main Responsibilities
* Technical Documentation: Prepare and manage technical documentation related to unbonded flexible pipes across different project phases (conceptual, FEED, tender, and contract preparation).
* Project Support: Oversee large EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) contracts for offshore unbonded flexible pipe systems during both tendering and execution phases.
* Design Review: Ensure the flexible pipe designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and best practices.
* Supplier Management: Involve in supplier selection and tender processes (including qualification, clarifications, and recommendations).
* Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with the Subsea Systems department and other engineering teams to ensure coordinated efforts.
* Compliance: Ensure adherence to company standards and HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) policies.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education: BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience: Extensive experience with flexible pipe systems, from preliminary engineering to detailed design.
Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in MS Office software.
* Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
* Experience with mechanical finite element analysis software such as Ansys, Abaqus, or Cosmosworks.
* Familiarity with dynamic analysis software like Orcaflex.
* Awareness of design standards for unbonded flexible pipes.
* Experience with bonded flexible pipe technology is advantageous but not mandatory.
Duration
12 months minimum, with the possibility of extension.
