Cornerstone Care 212 Ltd is a fifteen bed learning disabilities residential unit.
Responsibilities
1. To provide care for residents as required while supporting and promoting independence.
2. Document clearly and accurately in the resident’s care plans and associated records required as part of this role.
3. Provide emotional and practical support to service users. Help service users meet their personal care needs sensitively and appropriately to a high standard, including personal hygiene.
4. Fulfil laundry, general domestic duties and preparing meals and drinks as appropriate at all times.
5. Support and participate in resident’s social and recreational activities in line with individual care plans, including day trips and holidays. This includes the onsite day care programme.
6. Facilitate and support residents in decision making. Promote choice and involvement.
7. Consistently apply all strategies developed in response to challenging behaviours.
8. Ensure all resident’s medical needs are met in partnership with them and records completed accurately.
9. Following training and assessment administer medication in accordance with CC212 policies and procedures.
10. Demonstrate a safe understanding of what to do in the case of a medical emergency.
11. Ensure that Clients’ personal property and clothing is maintained to a high standard and report any requirements to the Registered Manager.
12. Be aware of and understand all aspects of potential abuse ensuring that the resident’s safety and wellbeing is always upheld.
13. Always maintain a professional and appropriate care worker/resident relationship.
14. Encourage and enable Residents to maintain acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene.
15. Fully understand the Regulation of Quality and Improvement Authority role, DHSSPS standards and ensure that you always implement them.
Experience and Qualifications
* Must have good communication skills verbal and written.
* Preferably hold a level 2 in Health and Social Care.
* Preferably have a minimum of 1 year’s experience within the health care sector.
* Preferably hold a full driving licence.
