Role: Asset Manager (Water/Wastewater Networks)
Location: Hybrid, Barnsley (S75 1JN)
Salary: circa £48,000 per annum
Role Type: Permanent, Full-Time Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

Joining the high-performing Operations Unit, you will be a crucial member of the team and use your experience of the water industry to help us achieve our objectives.
You will lead a curious and close-knit team to ensure optimum asset lifespan and work closely with our operational teams for the maintenance of our assets and to accurately interpret the data the assets omit. Leading a small team, you will create and embed a proactive approach to asset management and act as an advisor, guiding our field-based teams in line with asset data. The purpose of the team is to produce annual network management plans, which reduce the volume and cost of water leakage across our network. Working in line with challenging and industry targets, you will help improve the condition of our wastewater networks to reduce recurrence of waste issues. You will manage targets and provide interventions to ensure annual targets are achieved or exceeded. Using your previous experience, you will skilfully bring together operational and technical knowledge, people management, and your own organisational skills, with the ability to manage and influence key stakeholders to schedule and execute the plan.
What You Will Be Doing:
1. Leading a small team through inclusive and supportive leadership to analyse data and produce maintenance plans to manage our water and wastewater networks
2. Analysing and understanding the risk and criticality of our networks
3. Managing targets and providing interventions to ensure that annual targets are met
4. Developing and managing relationships with all internal and external customers and managing contractual obligations to the customer (e.g. MOD, DIO), along with regulatory obligations (e.g. Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, Local Authorities or Public Health)
5. Writing and maintaining network strategy and management plans including the overall Abstraction Licensing plan, including regulatory submissions
6. Developing sustainable and dynamic Operations & Maintenance and Annual Capital Investment plans that consider asset network condition, cost, risk and performance
7. Investigating and recommending innovative and technological-based solutions to solve problems
What You Will Bring:
1. Demonstrable experience of inclusive and supportive leadership and management
2. Knowledge and understanding of clean and wastewater networks gained in a similar role
3. Specific Water Industry knowledge such as Networks, Leakage Projects or abstraction licensing knowledge
4. Programme planning knowledge and budget management experience
5. Advanced IT skills, including MS Office and knowledge of work management systems or network management systems
6. Confidence to communicate with all hierarchical levels and able to interpret technical information effectively
7. A very high standard of written and verbal communication, including planning, prioritisation and presentation skills

This is a hybrid role but as we manage the networks of over 1,000 sites, there will be opportunities for you to visit sites to gain a wider understanding of the area and make key contacts within our field teams.
About You:
Due to the nature of sites on which we operate, the successful candidate must:
1. Meet the security clearance requirements for the role which includes, but is not limited to, the successful candidate being a full-time resident of the UK for the past 5 years
2. You will need a full, valid driving licence and be able to travel independently
