Job summary Delivering a high-quality service to people with a learning disability, their carers, staff and other service providers to ensure practices respond effectively to both individual and service need. Oversight, responsibility and accountability for the provision and management of high-quality nursing care and the treatment of service users within the community specialist learning disability service. Providing effective clinical leadership to ensure all nursing staff receive the appropriate supervision and support in conjunction with an agreed professional development plan. Establishing and maintaining team systems and processes for effective operation of the team, including outcome measures and key performance indicators. Main duties of the job Ensure effective nursing assessment and provision of a high standard of care within the community specialist learning disability service. Act as a positive clinical lead and role model within the community specialist learning disability service. Set and monitor care standards for the community nursing team to help support the provision of high-quality care. Facilitate others in the team to develop competence by providing leadership, day to day supervision, clinical advice and clinical supervision. Advocate for and promote a positive image of people with a learning disability. Provide advice on reasonable adjustments to primary and secondary healthcare services.
