Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Support Technician to join our Maintenence Engineering team here at Shirebrook. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing maintenance support for distribution systems and equipment, ensuring efficient and reliable operations. This is a semi-skilled maintenance role, requires attention to detail, the ability to work collaboratively and closely with the maintenance technician team within a fast-paced environment. There will be the opportunity to develop your skills whilst in role and potential future opportunity to go through an apprenticeship scheme.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
4. Provide maintenance support for distribution systems, including conveyor belts, sorting machines, and automated storage systems. Working and supporting closely with the maintenance technicians as well as the ability to work autonomously.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve simple issues promptly to minimise downtime.
Maintenance and Repairs:
6. Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on distribution equipment with appropriate support where required.
7. Support in ensuring all equipment is maintained according to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
System Monitoring:
8. Monitor the performance of distribution systems to identify potential issues.
9. Report any irregularities or potential problems to the maintenance supervisor.
Safety and Compliance:
10. Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
11. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and compliance checks.
Documentation and Reporting:
12. Maintain and record detailed records through CMMS of all support and maintenance activities.
Collaborative Efforts:
13. Work closely with the distribution and logistics teams to support seamless operations.
14. Assist with the implementation of new systems and technologies within the distribution centre.
Qualifications
Education: GCSEs or equivalent. NVQ Level 1 in Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance desired, however not required, Information Technology, or a related field would be advantageous.
Experience: Experience in a semi-skilled maintenance role, preferably within a distribution or logistics environment would be advantageous.
Skills: Technical troubleshooting skills. Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights. Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
