We are very fortunate to get lots of books donated, which we then sell in our shops and on eBay. As a book researcher, you will support and assist the team in maximising the income generated by books. The role involves researching the books and prepping the items for listing on eBay. The role involves lifting sets of books. Manual handling training is provided. We ask you to commit to at least one regular half-day weekly session. This could be Monday to Friday: AM: 9am to 1pm PM: 1pm to 5pm Alternative time slots can be arranged. What you’ll be doing: Under the leadership of a manager, you will be assisting with: Checking items to ensure good saleable condition Identifying valuable items suitable for sale Researching rare and interesting pieces to check their value Categorising items Preparing items to be listed on eBay by writing descriptions ready for the lister. This includes noting the dimensions, author, interesting features, history etc. Assisting the team with organising donations Promoting the public’s understanding of the work of Isabel Hospice and the importance of raising funds through the eBay Promoting and applying the Isabel Hospice Health & Safety Policy What’s in it for you? We ask that our volunteers are: At least 18 years old. Interested in volunteering for at least 6 months for at least 3 hours per week.
