Robert Half are working with a renowned Edinburgh-based organisation who are hiring a new Senior Accountant on a permanent basis. The position is well suited to a qualified accountant seeking a newly created role based in the heart of the city. This role offers a wide breadth of opportunities and varied work and is particularly suited to a qualified CA looking to step out of practice and into industry. That being said, we are also keen to discuss with any interested candidates who have built their experience purely within industry and commerce (ACCA/CIMA).
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will undertake a diverse array of tasks, including but not limited to:
1. Comprehensive month-end accounts preparation
2. Preparation of financial statements for multiple legal entities.
3. Extensive involvement in the external audit process.
4. Assistance with daily cash management.
5. Provision of technical accounting support.
6. Initiating process enhancements.
7. Aiding in the formulation of budgets and forecasts.
8. Reporting performance metrics to key stakeholders.
9. Analysing profit and loss statements; comparing actuals to budget and forecasts.
10. Supporting the MD with ad hoc tasks and projects.
Skills and Experience
11. Fully qualified chartered accountant (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA).
12. Previous experience in accounts preparation using Excel or accounts production software.
13. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
14. Capability to work autonomously with initiative.
15. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
16. Demonstrated ownership and pride in work.
17. Proficient IT skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
18. Strong team-oriented mindset.
19. Previous experience with Sage software (advantageous but not mandatory).
Salary will be within a range of £50,000 - £55,000 plus a generous benefits package.
