ASSISTANT EDITOR, DOCUMENTARIES

We are looking for an Assistant Editor to join our busy Documentary team.
The role would suit someone who is experienced using Avid, has worked on high end sports documentaries, is technically minded, and has meticulous attention to detail.
The role will involve assisting at every stage of the offline workflow including the media management of rushes, setting up and prepping projects, creation and organisation of bins and subclips, editing selects and assisting with turn over for final post.

Key responsibilities:
1. Ingesting, media managing, syncing and prepping rushes.
2. Creating proxies.
3. Cutting selects, rough cuts and comps.
4. Setting up and supporting edit suites.
5. Managing incoming/outgoing media storage (this will include hard drives and Signinat transfers).
6. Ensuring all media management is kept to the highest level of accuracy and detail.
7. First line technical support for post production hardware and software.
8. Creating and managing Media Shuttle portals.
9. Exporting and managing review files for internal and external clients (We Transfer, Sony CI, Vimeo etc.).
Please note that responsibilities may be amended, added to, or removed to reflect the changing needs of the production or organisation.
Skills and Experience:
1. Experience in a similar role on a high end sports documentary project.
2. Good knowledge of Avid, Interplay and Media Central.
3. Creating multi-cam sync maps, split track exports, proxy workflows, re-versioning, subtitling.
4. Familiarity with post production workflows and technical infrastructure with an up to date knowledge of industry technologies.
5. Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills.
6. Confident people and communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
7. Knowledge and enthusiasm for sport is a bonus but not essential.
Location: The base for this position will predominantly be Kew, London; international travel may be required on occasion.
Working Day: 5 day week, based in the Kew office. This role will require a degree of flexibility and possibly weekend working. You will be expected to work with the team to a schedule based on production requirement. Lieu days will be given for any days worked over a five-day week. Whisper offers the option of flexitime hours subject to production requirements.
Start: ASAP till Friday 13th December, with a view to extend.
Salary: Based on experience.
