About this Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Safe and Strong Communities team at Westmorland and Furness Council, in a wide-ranging role leading Public Protection Services for the Council. This role will actively contribute to the delivery of the Council’s priority of confident, empowered, resilient communities.
This role will be part of the Assistant Director, Safe and Strong Communities’ management team. The post holder will work closely with service managers within the directorate and across the authority to develop the approach, activity, and services relating to Licensing, Environmental Health, and Trading Standards.
The post-holder will have a leadership role in bringing together teams, policies, and processes from the three legacy District Councils and County Council into a unified service. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the development and transformation of services in a new Council, putting residents at the heart and helping our communities to thrive and flourish.
The successful candidate will ensure staff are fully engaged in the development of the service, and work with the whole organisation encouraging a 'one team' work culture.
