Job Title: Fleet Engineer
Location: South England territories, South London based.

Hours: Commensurate with the position of your role within the organisation, you will be required to adopt a flexible approach to the hours worked and which may be necessary for the proper performance of your duties.
Normal office hours of 8:30 – 5pm with an unpaid lunch break of half an hour.

Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Regional Fleet Engineer to manage the performance and compliance of the Fraikin 3rd party maintenance & repair network in a compliant, cost-effective, efficient manner in order to meet the operational requirements of the business and customers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Responsibilities
* Adhere to all statutory requirements regarding fire, health, safety and hygiene.
* Participate in cross/multi-skilled training within your department or other departments as deemed appropriate by your manager.
* Carry out any reasonable instruction as directed by a manager [or Director].
* Deal with all internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
* Maintain a high level of dress and appearance at all times adhering to PPE where the role requires this.
* Attend any training sessions as requested and adhere to all company regulations.
* From time to time you may be required to carry out duties outside the normal sphere of work as may be reasonably requested by Management.
* Manage the rationalisation programme of third-party providers including negotiation of terms, quality assessment, KPI’s, Repairer Dealer Agreements in order to deliver a ‘best in class’ service.
* Drive the External Suppliers to use FraikinVIEW to allow better cost control and compliance adherence.
* Carry out the PDI quality inspections of new vehicles which are in build prior to being released from our bodybuilders.
* Conduct audits across the provider network to agreed company LRQA operating and statutory maintenance requirements and standards.
* Identify repairers whose performance is adverse, and to implement and manage the corrective measures.
* Engage with colleagues and stakeholders in establishing optimum repairer coverage.
* Ensure that all warranty and policy/goodwill claims are raised and pursued to completion.
* Manage manufacturers recall requirements.
* Monitor the performance of the repairer network against agreed KPI’s.
* Engage with vehicle & equipment manufacturers regarding vehicle in-service problems and agree resolution plans.
* Provide technical appraisal of vehicles and component failures as required, in line with VSC (Vehicle Supply Chain) and the vehicle build process.
* Contribute to the identification of areas for continual improvement (efficiency/cost saving/HSE) and develop solutions to deliver such.
* Participate in any Engineering change management projects as necessary.
* Participate in the development of tender responses if required.
* Support the Central Operations Manager, Breakdown Centre, Mobile Network and Central Technical Team.
* In conjunction with the appropriate procurement manager, select the appropriate maintenance providers required in order to fulfil the operational needs of the business.
* Undertake new supplier evaluation audits within an agreed region and to make recommendations on acceptance into Fraikin maintenance network.
* Undertake technical inspections of parts at external maintenance providers in respect of warranty claims and work authorisation.
* Own the day-to-day external maintenance provider relationship within an allocated area on behalf of Fraikin UK.
* Provide feedback on maintenance provider performance levels to Fraikin U.K. and to attend contract review meetings where required.
* Support the reduction in levels of vehicle downtime through exceptional proactive management of issues regarding maintenance provision.
* Undertake technical inspections of vehicles as required and produce written technical reports.
* Ensure that data used and held within Fraikin systems is continually reviewed and correct to enable correct ordering procedures.
Person Specification
* Knowledge of commercial vehicle engineering (ideally time served or with appropriate qualification).
* Relationship Management including high levels of influencing & persuasion skills.
* Verbal and numerical skills both written and oral.
* Experience of budgetary cost management.
* Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
* Proven experience to manage suppliers to agreed KPI’s.
* Flexible attitude to working hours.
* Fully competent in Computer literacy (Office 365/Excel/Word/Powerpoint/M3).
* Highly organised and good discipline in managing a varied and comprehensive workload able to meet deadlines.
