Eden Scott is delighted to be partnering with ANM Group, to recruit an experienced professional for the position of Continuous Improvement Manager within their livestock division at Thainstone Market.
Developed in 1990, Thainstone Auction Centre is the largest purpose-built auction centre in Scotland. Its facilities are used for the sale of livestock, motor vehicles, machinery plant and equipment, events, and Sunday Market. It is the main destination for the rural sector in NE Scotland, and the high concentration of farmers and footfall has meant that several businesses involved in the sector have chosen to rent permanent retail units. Thainstone Centre and grounds extend to approximately 40 acres.
The objective of the role is to oversee and enhance the daily operations of our livestock markets, ensuring ANM delivers services that are effective, efficient, relevant, and of value to our members and customers. The role also aims to continually improve and provide a safe, modern working environment for all employees, members, customers, and stakeholders.
Main Duties:
* Collaborate with the Yard Manager, Canvassing Manager, and Main Office Manager to align goals and objectives and ensure livestock auctions are running smoothly, effectively, and efficiently.
* Manage improvements to the livestock auction operations processes, including unloading/loading of livestock, sorting, movement, and handling of stock through our markets, as well as maintaining cleanliness of livestock premises.
* Develop and advance our livestock auction operations by identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement, including seeking out new equipment and technology to enhance our service to members and customers and improve our employees' working environment.
* Maintain knowledge regarding industry compliance and ensure the welfare of livestock in accordance with ANM Health & Safety Policies and relevant legislation.
Qualifications & Experience:
* An understanding of the livestock industry.
* Practical knowledge of relevant processes and procedures.
* A track record of implementing change and maintaining process improvements.
* Sound people management skills.
* Proficient multi-tasking, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
* Able to work on own initiative.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
