Location: Client Site – Catholic School in Ipswich
Sharp IT Services is looking for 1st Line and 2nd Line IT Support Analysts to join our team at a secondary school in Ipswich. These roles offer a fantastic opportunity to develop your technical skills in a school setting, supporting both staff and students in a dynamic learning environment.
About the Roles
* 1st Line Support Analyst – You’ll be the first point of contact for IT issues, providing friendly and efficient support to keep the school’s technology running smoothly.
* 2nd Line Support Analyst – You’ll take on more complex technical issues, maintaining and improving the school’s IT infrastructure while supporting 1st Line colleagues.
Both roles work closely with the Service Delivery Manager and Infrastructure Manager, ensuring high-quality IT service delivery across the school.
Key Responsibilities
1st Line Support:
* Provide first-line IT support to staff and students, ensuring prompt issue resolution.
* Manage and update support tickets, keeping users informed.
* Support classroom technology, including interactive whiteboards, printers, and student devices.
* Troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Wi-Fi, and other school systems.
* Set up and maintain IT equipment and assist with software installations.
* Communicate professionally with staff, students, and IT colleagues.
2nd Line Support:
* Diagnose and resolve more complex technical issues, escalating when necessary.
* Manage and maintain school IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cybersecurity.
* Administer and support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, and other key systems.
* Deploy, configure, and maintain hardware and software.
* Work proactively to improve IT systems and processes within the school.
* Mentor and support 1st Line colleagues.

* Technical knowledge relevant to the role level, including:
* Microsoft Server & Desktop Operating Systems
* Microsoft 365 & Azure
* Networking, Firewalls, and Cybersecurity
* Backup and Anti-Virus Solutions
* 1st Line: Basic understanding of IT systems with a willingness to learn.
* 2nd Line: Hands-on experience in IT support, with the ability to troubleshoot more complex issues.
