BDS are recruiting for an experienced Housing Support Worker to work with a social justice charity based in the Luton, Watford and Bedford area. You will be overseeing aound 3/4 properties, housing around 10 clients in total, the clients you will be supporting are either on bail, HDC or on license. working 40 hoursa week, 35hrs paid, 5 hours lunch unpaid, occasionally Saturday with Monday off. Late and early shifts pattens. 8-4pm and 2-10pm Home working between service visits. About the role. To provide housing related support to vulnerable individuals together with providing housing and property management with the aim of achieving a successful move-on and other measurable outcomes including supporting service users to achieve independence. Plan effective Support and Safety Plans for each service user which are person centered and encompass individual support needs. Deliver a minimum of two hours of support to service users weekly and update all support plans accordingly. Empower and motivate service users to Identify and achieve desired outcomes. Actively engage with service users in decisions that affect them. Updating Resident Record Database – all support and service user contact is required to be recorded, reviewed, and updated regularly and in line with contract requirements. Identify, report and manage all incidents of anti social behavior by any service user and record appropriately on database provided. Allocated properties are to be visited weekly to ensure that repairs are reported and followed up, cleaning is being undertaken, equipment is present, furnishings are in a good state of order and exterior areas are being maintained. All properties are required to be maintained to Decent Homes Standards. Develop effective move-on plan with service users at the earliest opportunity, identifying realistic options for independent or more appropriate housing making use of discretionary funding available to all. Support service users to undertake domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills. Engage with colleagues from The Probation Service to deliver a coordinated and joined up approach to support for our service users. Maximize Rental Income by ensuring the completion and submission of all HB appropriate paperwork. About you. You will need a full UK licence and a car with the correct level of business insurance. You will need to have an adult enhanced DBS either less than 8 months old or registered on the update service. You will need to have experience in a similar role.
