Protocol Education is seeking a Kurdish-speaking SEND Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Gateshead area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who need additional support while gaining valuable experience in the education sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing tailored support to pupils with SEND, ensuring their individual needs are met.
2. Assisting with language translation and communication between pupils, staff, and families.
3. Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
4. Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
5. Supporting students' social, emotional, and academic development.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Fluent in Kurdish and English (verbal and written) or experience working with children who have English as an Additional Language (EAL).
2. Experience working with children, preferably within an educational or SEND setting.
3. Possess patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learners.
4. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
5. A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or a willingness to apply for one).
