We are advertising 2 positions at 0.8-1.0wte but we are happy to discuss alternatives to this and we welcome applications from band 7 psychologists who could be appointed with an agreed development plan, working towards an 8a role in the future. These posts would be to support the community pathways but there may be the opportunity to work into other service areas and so please contact us should you wish to discuss this further.
You will join an established Psychology department consisting of Trainees, Assistant Psychologists, Clinical Associate Psychologists, band 8a Clinical Psychologists, band 8b Clinical Psychologists and a Lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist. We are dedicated to working to support the psychological needs of older people and meet regularly for clinical discussion, peer support and exploration of relevant service issues. The department holds departmental CPD topic discussions, and you will be encouraged to pursue relevant training opportunities.
Main Duties of the Job
To provide specialist clinical psychology input within Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP). To work within a CMHT setting as well as offering neuropsychological assessments within the memory service pathway. The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and will have responsibility for the provision of a direct clinical service, as well as offering advice and consultation on psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues.
The post holder will fulfil professional duties in accordance with the strategic aims of MHSOP, the professional code of conduct as stipulated by the BPS and Healthcare Professional Council, and in agreement with the Clinical Psychology Service manager.
