History Teacher - High School in Sheffield
The PWR team at Teaching Personnel are working with an Ofsted-graded 'Good' High School in Sheffield to recruit a dedicated and engaging History Teacher for a permanent position starting in September 2025 (or Easter for the right candidate). The school has a well-established Humanities department with a strong track record of success at both GCSE and A-Level. With a focus on delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, the school encourages students to explore history from different perspectives and develop analytical skills that will serve them beyond the classroom.
* Location: Sheffield
* Start Date: September 2025 (or Easter for the right candidate)
* Salary: MPS/UPS (Potential TLR for the right candidate)
Responsibilities
* Teaching History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of A-Level teaching for experienced candidates
* Developing engaging and thought-provoking lessons that inspire students to question and analyse historical events
* Supporting students through GCSE and A-Level History coursework and exam preparation
* Contributing to the wider school community through extracurricular activities such as historical trips, clubs, and competitions
* Collaborating with the Humanities department to develop innovative teaching resources
Minimum Requirements
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
* Have experience teaching History at secondary level, ideally with GCSE and/or A-Level experience
* Be passionate about helping students develop a love for history and strong critical thinking skills
* Have excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment
* Be committed to their own professional development and keen to contribute to department-wide initiatives
