Context
The importance of evidence, analysis, insight and data for place has risen substantially in the last year. A core part of the analytical need is for UKRI to demonstrate its impact and support for government priorities. This includes the development of timely forecasts and geographic distribution of spend data to enable UKRI to support the government agenda, as well as insight to support decision making on achieving the organisation’s place-based outcomes.
You will be an analyst that produces the geographic distribution of spend data on a timely and robust basis, including analysing and synthesising input from across UKRI. The role will involve agile tasks that evolve with the strategic direction of place.
The role holder will have direct linkages into the UKRI Policy Analysis team, who will lead task management and ensure alignment with broader place-related analysis. We are committed to supporting each other’s personal and professional development in this role.
Key Areas of Accountability

* Deliver ad-hoc analysis related to place investment, supporting M&E of UKRI’s place interventions.
* Work collaboratively with the Place, analysis team, and investment strategy team, as well as colleagues in other directorates across UKRI.
* Assist with quality assurance checks, ensuring that the team QA process is followed and necessary approvals are escalated.
* Provide support to stakeholders by addressing internal and external queries and liaising across teams to identify suitable evidence and datasets for place analysis.
The successful applicant is expected to work in an agile environment, on ad hoc and longer-term projects as place policy priorities evolve.
