As part of the Scottish Procurement & Property Directorate, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of procurement in Scotland, driving initiatives that enhance public services while promoting a fairer, more sustainable, and prosperous nation. As a Strategic Engagement Officer, you will engage with stakeholders across government, private, and third sectors, playing a key role in aligning cross-government procurement policies, contributing to initiatives, managing critical relationships, and supporting the dissemination of strategies that positively impact small businesses and the third sector. You will provide a high-quality secretariat function for Heads of Procurement, the Public Procurement Group and the Procurement Supply Group. Responsibilities Responsibilities Liaising with colleagues across the directorate to identify opportunities for collaboration to support policy delivery. Updating a ‘calendar of business’, outlining proposed topics for stakeholder groups to ensure Senior Management Team have awareness of upcoming activity. Managing agendas, papers, minutes, and other critical documentation, ensuring effective reporting to senior stakeholders and Ministers. Supporting the creation of a chairs brief for each group. Producing and circulating accurate minutes of each meeting. Supporting the grant payment process to a key stakeholder using Oracle Cloud. Contributing to various directorate projects, demonstrating flexibility, and a pro-active approach to problem solving. Updating action point log, capturing relevant action points from each meeting, identifying agreed action owners. Following up on outstanding actions with relevant action owners and ensuring completion by a relevant date. Acting as a central point of contact for enquiries from group members or for requests for information about the group.
