This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with a strong academic or technical background (preferably in Civil Engineering) who is looking to gain hands-on experience in managing specialist construction projects. The Role – Assistant Project Manager Working alongside experienced Project/Contracts Managers and Directors, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will gain exposure to restoration, conservation, and high-end construction, developing skills in project planning, procurement, site coordination, and stakeholder management. Key Responsibilities Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of restoration and conservation projects. Work closely with clients, architects, surveyors, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery. Support project teams in budgeting, scheduling, and procurement activities. Monitor site progress, ensuring work aligns with specifications and quality standards. Assist in the preparation of project reports, documentation, and risk assessments. Help manage health & safety compliance on-site. Provide technical support in structural and restoration processes, particularly in heritage projects. Attend site meetings and liaise with subcontractors and suppliers. What We’re Looking For Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred). 1-2 years’ experience in an Assistant Project Manager, Site Engineer, or similar role within construction, restoration, or conservation. Passion for heritage, conservation, and traditional building techniques. Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings. Excellent communication and organisational abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, and AutoCAD (preferred). Proactive and problem-solving mindset with a keen attention to detail. Full UK driving licence is beneficial due to site visits. What’s in It for You?
