Job Responsibilities/Objectives:
As a Cable Puller, you will be responsible for assisting with the installation of cables, primarily in construction and live environments. You will work closely with experienced engineers and be expected to follow safety regulations while ensuring efficient cable installations.
Key responsibilities include:
1.Assist with the pulling and installation of copper and fiber optic cables in construction environments. 2.Ensure work is completed to high standards while adhering to safety guidelines and procedures. 3.Maintain a professional attitude when working in live environments and when interacting with clients. 4.Use and maintain basic hand tools such as cutters, knives, and screwdrivers during installations. 5.Report any site issues or concerns to the supervising engineer promptly.
Required Skills/Experience:
The ideal candidate will have the following:
1.Cable pulling background 2.Basic understanding of copper and fiber installation (preferred but not essential). 3.Professional attitude and client-facing experience, with the ability to work in live environments. 4.CSCS/ECS Labourer or trade-specific card (mandatory). 5.Enhanced DBS check (required due to work in environments with vulnerable people).
Desirable Skills/Experience:
1.Experience working in a team environment, with the ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines. 2.Ability to adapt to changing site conditions and requirements.
Additional Requirements:
1.Basic set of hand tools (cutters/snips, Stanley knife, screwdriver set). 2.Own transport is essential, as most work will be within central Cambridge and surrounding areas. Free parking will be provided where possible.
