Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for an Advanced Practitioner within the Disabled Children Team to work full time based in Northamptonshire.
The salary for this permanent Advanced Practitioner job is up to £44,911 per annum.
Main duties:
* Work independently to hold and effectively manage a small complex caseload, including the highest risk, high need, looked after children; a range of high profile court work and specialist assessments and interventions as required.
* Undertake high quality direct work with children, young people and families, involving all key family members and prioritising children and young people’s safety. Work using Signs and Safety methodology, which collaborates with families to empower them to find solutions while ensuring compliance with the policies, procedures of Children’s Services and regulatory standards.
* Lead family network meetings and case mappings. Carry out in-depth and ongoing family assessments of social need and manage risk to children, focusing on parental capacity and capacity to change.
* Co-work specialist assessments with less experienced team members to ensure their improvement and development.
* Assist the Team Manager in the recruitment, induction, supervision, and appraisal of team members and in effective performance management in accordance with the council’s policies and procedures.
* Recognise harm and risk indicators of different forms of harm to children relating to sexual, physical, and emotional abuse or neglect, including the potential for Child Sexual Exploitation, grooming, female genital mutilation, and enforced marriage.
* Use reflective supervision, research, and other guidance to recognise one’s own professional limitations and when to seek advice from senior practice leaders and other clinical practitioners from various disciplines.
* Navigate the family and youth justice systems in England using legal powers and duties to support families, protect children, and look after children in the public care system, including the regulated frameworks that support the full range of permanence options.
* Seek advice and professional second opinions as required regarding legal issues, interventions, and plans impacting children, young people, and families involved with statutory services.
* Use the law and regulatory and statutory guidance to inform practice decisions, considering the complex relationship between professional ethics, the application of the law, and the impact of social policy.
* Make realistic child-centred plans within a review timeline to manage and reduce identified risks and meet the needs of the child, ensuring evidence-informed plans demonstrate clear analysis and professional judgement.
* Continuously develop knowledge of child development and its impact on all aspects of a child’s life, including physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
* Support, coach, and mentor other team members and be a champion in Signs of Safety, expected to be a Practice Educator to social work students on practice placements in the team.
Requirements of this Advanced Practitioner job:
* A social work qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Continual professional development.
* Social Work England registered.
* Experience within Adult Social Work.
