Design Coordinator required to join one of the UK's leading modular building and site accommodation providers to be based in their Leeds office, LS27.
Our client provides permanent, semi-permanent and temporary accommodation solutions for a wide range of projects across the UK, producing a range of modern methods of construction services within the education, healthcare, commercial, retail, and residential sectors.
Purpose of the Design Coordinator
Provide a turnkey design service during the pre and post contract of a wide variety of construction projects within the education, healthcare, residential, retail, and commercial sectors, delivered using the latest offsite, modern methods of construction.
Manage the coordination of technical drawing packages (including clash detection), liaising with the internal project team members from various sectors, advising of any design risks, managing the expectations of external clients in line with the Employer's Requirements, ensuring compliance of sub-contractor design elements within the consultant design, and ensuring full compliance with all relevant codes and standards including Building Regulations, Building Bulletins, Health Technical Memorandums, and other associated publications.
Possess a technical sound knowledge of MMC, understanding details for various products, and coordinating with steel fabrication designers in relation to connection details, material schedules, and take-offs.
Background for the Design Coordinator
* Demonstrable experience in design management of construction projects valued at £3 million or more.
* Excellent technical working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit is an absolute necessity.
* Must have a specific consultancy background such as Structural, Civil, or Architectural.
* Experience of design and build contracts with specific knowledge of education, healthcare, residential, and commercial buildings.
* Working knowledge of CDM Regulations.
* Expert knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Bulletins, and Health Technical Memorandums.
* Working knowledge of BREEAM.
* Knowledge of design and design interrogation software such as Navisworks.
* Experience within Offsite and Modern Methods of Construction is essential, but training will be provided.
Qualifications for the Design Coordinator
* Degree/HNC qualified in a building-related subject and/or design consultancy base as a minimum.
* CDM-related qualifications beneficial, but training will be provided.
* CSCS Card.
* Relevant software use such as Autodesk and Microsoft suites.
Salary depending on experience: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum plus excellent benefits and modern hybrid working.
