Institutional Credit Management (ICM) is an in-business and first Line of Defense (1LoD) function within Citi dedicated to end-to-end wholesale credit risk (WCR) management. ICM covers numerous products, regions and lines of businesses (LoBs) - all while providing the controls and support necessary to help reduce Citi's risks.
The ICM In-Business Quality Assurance (QA) function verifies that established standards and processes are followed and consistently applied. ICM Management uses the results of the quality assurance reviews to assess the quality of the group's policies, procedures, programs and practices as relates to the management of wholesale credit risk. The results help management identify operational weaknesses, risks associated with the function, training needs, and process deficiencies.
The ICM Head of In-Business QA reports results of Quality Assurance Reviews (QARs) providing feedback, insight, and observations on any deficiency and areas of improvement, engaging with the management of the respective ICM business area, Independent Risk and critical stakeholders and regulators. This role reports to the ICM In-Business Quality Assurance - Credit Processes Function Head.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead a team that focus on QARs of the Transaction Management, Collateral Risk Management and Credit Risk Management Services functions.
* Work with multiple teams of professionals to enable effective execution of QARs by assisting early in capacity planning, testing strategy development, training, reporting and other activities for ongoing delivery of robust Quality Assurance results.
* Represent In-Business QA in working groups for regulatory and internal remediations.
* Proactively manage relationship with multiple stakeholders, including QADs, Function heads and Business Heads.
* Utilise communication and leadership skills to influence a wide range of senior internal and external audiences, providing impactful, valuable, and ongoing input through active interactions with stakeholders and formal participation at key committees and management initiatives, where applicable.
* Provide credible challenge to Business Heads regarding standards and process quality to ensure that weaknesses in such processes are identified and escalated as appropriate.
* Ensures end-to-end Wholesale Credit Risk within Citi is effectively identified, measured, monitored and controlled.
* Understand end-to-end processes and provide an assessment of the control environment and its ability to mitigate risk.
* Provide continuous improvement ideas to assist In-Business QA to become a "best-in-class" function.
* Provide innovative testing solutions using data, automation, AI and other technologies.
* Develop staff members understanding and effective execution of key risk management activities.
* Assist in other QARs across WCR In-Business QA as required.
* Assist WLCR In-Business QA function in the establishment of In-Business QA policies, procedures, risk assessment and controls to drive effective QA coverage and standards.
* Support the Credit Processes Function Head for In-Business QA on internal projects and initiatives.
* Support ICM Voice of the Employee (VOE) initiatives.
* Travel (less than 10%).
Knowledge/Experience:
* Quality Assurance experience, including relevant years in wholesale banking credit operations, credit risk management, internal audit, loan review or quality assurance review function at an investment or large commercial bank.
* Demonstrable experience of successfully leading a team.
* Advanced understanding of risk management and control frameworks related to wholesale lending management or equivalent risk discipline.
* Exceptional knowledge and experience on designing and implementing robust Quality Assurance framework, from execution of scripts and procedures, development of housing infrastructure and database maintenance, reporting to senior management of observed findings, and continuous improvement, working closely and independently to the IBQA Heads of WLCR/CCR/Data and Function Heads.
* Proficient understanding of policies and procedures with the ability to execute change seamlessly.
* Significant experience in preparing presentations for senior leaders.
* Outstanding awareness and adherence to the control environment including Quality Assurance.

* Seasoned Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) skills.
Qualifications:
* BA/BSc or higher degree in Business (MBA), or any other related subject.
