Job Description
As a Collection and Delivery Driver for DPD, you'll be the face of our company and play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Serving as the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service when collecting or delivering parcels
2. Starting your shift at the depot, where you'll be responsible for efficiently loading parcels onto your 3.5 tonne van
3. Following a daily delivery schedule and managing your route effectively to ensure timely collections and deliveries
4. Safely operating and maintaining the 3.5 tonne van, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
5. Accurately scanning and recording parcel information using handheld devices
6. Collecting signatures and other necessary proof of delivery from customers
7. Promptly reporting any delivery issues, vehicle problems, or customer concerns to your supervisor
8. Maintaining a clean and organised van, conducting daily vehicle checks, and reporting any maintenance needs
9. Adapting to changing weather conditions and adjusting your delivery approach accordingly
10. Collaborating with depot staff and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and efficient parcel sorting
11. Wearing the provided uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on duty

This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Your dedication to timely and accurate deliveries will be crucial in maintaining DPD's reputation for excellence in the logistics industry.
Qualifications
What we're looking for:
To be considered for the role you must have:
Held a full UK driving licence and had regular driving experience for 12 months or more

17. Have the ability to lift, load and carry parcels weighing up to 30kg

19. Have a good level of physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
20. Can work independently and as part of a team
21. Have basic computer skills and the ability to use handheld devices
22. Are comfortable working in various weather conditions
23. Have a good knowledge of local roads and geography
The following would be advantageous, but not essential:
24. Previous experience in a delivery or logistics role
25. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the transport industry
