The Surgical Receiving Unit (SRU) is a new unit within Torbay Hospital that takes patients directly referred from GPs, patients from the Emergency Department, and patients from clinic. We take a lot of specialties including Urology, Orthopaedics, and ENT. It is a fast-paced environment where every member of the MDT supports each other and is valued. As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you will provide day-to-day leadership to the nursing team, facilitating the efficient working of the multidisciplinary team to assess care needs, develop, implement, and evaluate programmes of care. In this role, you will be coordinating the running of the Surgical Receiving Unit to ensure a good patient journey and support of staff on the shift.
Main Responsibilities
1. Co-ordinate the shift whilst maintaining a calm and professional attitude.
2. Help in the day-to-day running of the unit, supporting the team around you to deliver a high standard of care.
