To support the goals of the Finishing Department and help to achieve their business targets, supporting the operations involved in print finishing to enable the Finishing Department to meet the planned schedules and customer specifications and expectation.
Responsibilities:
1. Gain a full knowledge of the range of print finishing equipment operated by the department – to specifically be able to set, operate and maintain Polar Guillotines, Stahl Folders, Muller & Heidelberg Stitching Lines and Multi Mailer & Glueing Machines.
2. Be able to operate a PC and to be able to understand the company’s management information systems in regards to job bags, delivery systems etc.
3. Undertake support tasks as required by the Finishing Manager.
4. Help to achieve team and individual targets as set by the Finishing Manager.
5. Maintain good time keeping and attendance.
6. Maintain a tidy and clean work area ensuring that the work area is kept in a clean and orderly manner.
7. Understand and adhere to the company policies and procedures with particular emphasis on quality and health and safety.
8. Be willing and able to work overtime at relatively short notice and to cover holidays and sickness as required.
9. Work on either the Late Shift 14:00 – 22:00 or Night Shift 20:30 – 06:00.
Requirements:
1. A successful proven record and experience of all aspects of Print Finishing gained within a print production or print finishing environment.
2. Able to follow written and verbal instructions, attention to detail.
3. Able to generate innovative and effective solutions to meet customer requirements.
4. Able to cope with multiple projects at one time.
5. Ability to analyse relevant information to make quality decisions.
6. Able to maintain good disciplines and standards, initiative and drive.
7. Understanding of commercial issues surrounding jobs.
8. Able to ensure that all documentation is complete and accurate.
9. Good verbal, written communication and effective listening skills.
10. Must be methodical with the customer requirements.
11. Team player, able and willing to assist other members of the team.
