The Controls Site Supervisor position is part of the projects team, within the commercial control systems division. The position officially reports to the Head of Projects, however, a dotted line relationship to each project manager in the team will be established based on which project the supervisor is assigned to work on.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Controls Site Supervisor role is a key position within the projects team, assisting the project managers with day-to-day on-site running of the larger projects on the books. The supervisor will be assigned to specific projects with a dotted line into the overall project manager for that particular job. The supervisor will be responsible for daily running of all aspects of project site works including installation and commissioning.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Running on-site activities for short-term and long-term projects.
2. Being a point of contact and coordination for installation sub-contractors and internal commissioning labour.
3. Ensuring electrical installation works are being carried out to high standards and to specification.
4. Working with installation sub-contractors to track progress, costs and ensure works are being carried out on time and within budget.
5. Ensuring health and safety standards are being met.
6. Ensuring all staff and contractors are fully inducted and signed in.
7. Issuing of permits to work.
8. Carrying out daily/weekly toolbox talks.
9. Attending daily/weekly site progress meetings with client and stakeholders.
10. Provision of key documentation such as risk assessments and project status reports where required.
ESSENTIAL SKILL & EXPERIENCE
1. Experience within a site construction/fit-out environment in an electrical-biased supervisory role.
2. Strong electrical installation and testing background with relevant and up-to-date qualifications. The position will be expected to uphold high standards of electrical installation and work closely with our network of installation sub-contractors to deal with site issues or hurdles as and when they arise.
3. SSSTS or SMSTS qualification is required.
4. JIB/ECS Black/Gold card holder.
5. Able to follow complex electrical schematics and familiar with control panels.
6. Ability to operate at a high level in a fast-paced environment.
7. Logical and methodical approach to problem-solving using own initiative is a must.
8. Good written & communication skills including report writing.
9. Strong interpersonal/organizational skills.
10. The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
11. Attention to detail.
12. First aider (or willing to gain qualification).
DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
1. Experience within data centres (new build or fit-out).
2. HVAC and/or BMS knowledge and experience.
3. Knowledge/awareness of Tridium N4 controllers architecture.
