Moore Barlow is seeking a Tax Assistant to join our Southampton based team.

Day to Day:
You will be a motivated and detail-oriented individual who will support our busy tax team, focusing primarily on preparing tax returns for the firm's partners. You will also manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and provide administrative support to the Tax Manager. You will also:
* Prepare and submit self-assessment tax returns for the firm's partners, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines.
* Communicate with HMRC on behalf of partners to resolve any tax queries or issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
* Maintain detailed records of partner information, tax documents, and communications, ensuring all partner accounts are up-to-date and properly managed.
* Assist in the preparation and review of partnership accounts as they relate to individual partner tax computations.
* Provide general administrative support to the tax team, including maintaining files, organising documentation, and ensuring accurate data entry. Assisting with the preparation of the LLP Computations and associated analysis.
* Keep up to date with changes in tax law, regulations, and best practices relevant to partner tax returns, ensuring the firm remains compliant.
What we look for:
* You will ideally have or are working towards a recognised tax or accounting qualification such as ATT, CTA, or AAT.
* A relevant degree or equivalent experience in tax/accounting.
* Experience in preparing personal tax returns, ideally for partners in a law firm or professional services environment.
* Experience liaising with HMRC is desirable.
* Experience of using the HMRC tax website / personal tax account interface and using CHH.
* Strong numeracy and analytical skills with attention to detail.
