Job Title: Lecturer in Maths
Location: Highbury Campus, Portsmouth with travel across other campuses
Salary: £29,074.42 - £42,579.53 Full Time Equivalent, Maternity Cover 1 x year, start February 2025
Hours of work: 35 hours per week (inclusive of teaching and prep time), 52 weeks, Fixed Term Contract 12m
Teaching hours: 850 per annum actual, 850 full time equivalent

About The Role
As a Lecturer in Maths here at COPC, your role will encompass various responsibilities aimed at providing the very best of learning experiences to our students. Your role will entail designing and delivering lessons, conducting practical demonstrations, and assessing students' progress through assignments/exams. Additionally, you may be tasked with providing guidance on career pathways, industry certifications and work placements.
Key Responsibilities:
* To deliver Maths qualifications to 16-19 year old learners alongside their vocational studies.
* Conducting demonstrations and hands-on training to enhance students' practical skills.
* Providing constructive feedback and support to students to help them improve their skills and achieve learning outcomes.
* Collaborating with colleagues on curriculum design, program development and quality assurance initiatives.
* Represent COPC with professionalism in every interaction.
* Handling sensitive information with confidentiality.
* Fostering a positive and inclusive environment that promotes diversity, equality and respect among all members of the college community.
To be successful in this role, we would need from you:
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
* Strong interpersonal skills, maintaining an approachable demeanor.
* Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service.
* Problem-solving abilities to resolve issues independently or collaboratively.
* Previous experience in a similar role or a lengthy background within Maths.
* Maths qualifications are a must.
* Level 5 Certificate in Education or equivalent or be willing to work towards.
