The Department of Health and Social Care wish to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Lecturer in Health and Social Care) to work with learners across SCQF levels 4 to 7.
You will produce high quality learning, teaching and assessment materials, and deliver excellent teaching within the specialist area of Health and Social Care. You will work with others to develop new approaches to teaching, making use of learning technologies.
Ensuring that the curriculum is relevant and up-to-date, you will contribute to the development of elements of provision and enhance students' learning through providing subject support. You will naturally have a strong learner focus.
You will be educated to at least degree level, or equivalent, within in the specialist area of Health and Social Care or have significant industry experience. You may be a member of the General Teaching Council or Scottish Social Services Council or eligible for Nursing and Midwifery registration.
Ideally, you will have experience in Further Education or adult education. Ideally, you will hold Assessor and Verifier qualifications and a Professional Development Award in Teaching or Teaching Qualification (Further Education) or equivalent, or have a willingness to work towards achieving these.
You will have experience of developing innovative teaching practice along with good organisational skills and evidence of appropriate ICT skills. You will also possess good knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements and a sound understanding of quality enhancement processes and standards. It would be highly desirable to have experience in delivering HNC level courses in Health and Social Care related subjects.
