We are looking for volunteers to help run our social club for young people on a Friday evening!
Do you enjoy talking with people and engaging in group activities? If the answer is 'yes'
1. Come be one of our club hosts!
2. Able to drive or help with individual sessions (such as day trips)? We would welcome you as a support volunteer!
3. Unable to or just don't like leaving the house but still want to make a difference? We have plenty of administrative and graphic design jobs you could work on!
4. We're also looking for people with unique talents to teach one-off sessions (for example, painting or cooking). If you have a specialty let us know! DSC would love to learn it from you!
A bit about the group;
Daventry Social Club is a friendly place for people aged 18-30 years to meet in a safe social space, with the opportunity to meet new people, with one of the aims being to reduce isolation in the neurodiverse community. The club is particularly accessible for individuals who have difficulties socialising and may experience anxiety around social situations. The Club does its best to accommodate everyone!
The group meets at the New Street Centre in Daventry every Friday evening, and during the sessions members can choose to play a range of board games or engage in arts and craft activities. The sessions provide structured activities that make socialising easier, and this is where we need your help, organising board games and activities and providing encouragement.
About volunteering with us;
Volunteering with the Daventry social club (DSC) is great for those who want to make a difference in their local community. Sometimes when volunteering for larger organisations it can be difficult to feel the impact your contribution is having, but volunteering with DSC is a locally run project and you will be able to see the difference you're making for the people you support in a meaningful way!
Everyone has unique skills and talents even if they don't believe it themselves! DSC is an accessible project so we have many opportunities to match.
This is a very rewarding volunteer role as the club makes a huge difference to individuals who find it difficult to meet new people and may have social anxieties.
It is a lovely, judgement-free space where everyone feels comfortable to be themselves and have a good time!
Please get in touch for a chat to find out more, we look forward to hearing from you, thank you!
Please note: A DBS check is required for this role.
