JOB PURPOSE:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analysing and interpreting complex data sets to support strategic decision-making and enhance the overall performance of the college. As a part of the BI team, you’ll work with the Head of BI to develop a comprehensive understanding of the data held across the business using a range of reporting tools to enhance productivity and inform decision-making. This role involves data interpretation to support student experience and learning delivery optimisation and in refining and improving student data processes.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with the Head of Business Intelligence and stakeholders to identify new requirements for reports and visualisations of key information, supporting stakeholders to accurately scope their requirements and design new or improved outputs to meet these.
2. Support Head of Business Intelligence to work with the key stakeholders to ensure that the use of information and reporting insights is optimised across the college and that users have a high level of trust in the information provided by central systems.
3. Plan, contribute to and deliver projects as agreed within the College Information Strategy, making best use of MI Systems and reporting tools to improve processes, drive improvements in student experience, and contribute to the ongoing provision of excellence across the College.
4. Design, develop and maintain reports, dashboards and other business solutions using current technologies such as SQL Server Management Studio, Report Builder and SSRS in line with the approved College strategy.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
1. Significant experience in using SQL Server Management Studio, Report Builder, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and Microsoft Access to create a range of reports to agreed specifications.
2. Comfortable manipulating a range of data sources.
3. Degree level computing related discipline or equivalent, or extensive working experience in a reporting environment.
4. A proactive analytical and methodical approach to resolving problems and queries.
