Job overview
The Neonatal Unit at The Tunbridge Wells Hospital is a Level 2 unit comprising of 18 cots, caring for babies from 27 weeks gestation.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a purpose-built Neonatal Unit, specialising in providing an environment promoting quality family-centred care. We are proud to be Bliss accredited and BFI stage 2.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated member of staff to join our friendly, dedicated team.

Experience would be an advantage although we offer further opportunity for training and development, and actively support any continuing professional development you may wish to undertake.

Person specification
Qualification
* UK RCN/RN/RM professional registration
* Evidence of a relevant post-registration professional development.
* Diploma or equivalent, neonatal course.
Experience
* Experience as student/registered nurse
* Experience of multi-disciplinary working
* High dependency nursing care of the sick infant
* In speciality may be advantageous
Knowledge
* Knowledge of current clinical evidence based practice
* Knowledge and understanding of current changes in NHS and Social Services
* Knowledge and understanding of clinical governance
* Knowledge of current professional issues relating to nursing
* Understanding of equal opportunities
* Understanding of patient confidentiality
Skills
* Ability to work towards support and managing a case-load of patients including assessment, planning, monitoring and evaluation, including providing health promotion and education to patients and carers
* Ability to organise and deliver a high standard of nursing care
* Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to liaise effectively with members of the Primary Health Care team and other agencies
* Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise work
