The Role We are delighted to be working exclusively with a wonderful manufacturing business, and supporting them in their search for a proactive and organised Factory Supervisor to join the production team. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing production processes, stock control, site hygiene, and factory operations to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with food safety standards. You will also support team training and performance monitoring to maintain efficiency and quality. Key responsibilities include: Coordinating with the Senior Operations Manager to manage stock control and liaising with purchasing teams to avoid shortages. Ensuring production aligns with allergen and free-from controls. Assigning tasks to Factory Operatives and Technical Admin staff to maintain production targets and quality standards. Training and monitoring new Factory Operatives, implementing a buddy system for seamless onboarding. Conducting GMP and stock audits to maintain quality assurance. Ensuring FIFO principles are followed in stock storage and maintaining accurate stock takes. Overseeing site hygiene and security, including PPE compliance and swab testing for cleanliness verification. Reporting maintenance issues and assigning routine maintenance tasks to operatives. Ensuring all operatives adhere to health and safety regulations. Requirements The ideal candidate will have experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or food production environment. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate teams effectively are highly desirable. Knowledge of food safety protocols, allergen controls, and stock management would be beneficial. This role could suit someone who has worked as a Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Team Leader, or Operations Coordinator.
