My client is a world-renowned Engineering Consultancy that offers a variety of services to a number of high-end prestigious and local companies. Due to securing a number of new projects, their Leeds office is looking to bring in a Principal Structural Engineer who will be critical to the successful delivery of projects to budget and timescales.
As the team grows, this role may include responsibility for leading a small team of engineers and designers. Initial requirements include managing the delivery of projects, acting as discipline lead within a multidisciplinary team, and maintaining client contact to ensure that project delivery meets the client's objectives and requirements.
You will ensure that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and completed in accordance with agreed timescales and budgets. You will undertake project delivery tasks, which may include calculations, drawings, sketches, and reports. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance, support, and training to colleagues and assist, where practicable, in mentoring and development of others while working in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines.
You will have knowledge of design in common building materials, including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry, as well as experience in geotechnical engineering and designing foundations. Experience in preparation and checking of well-presented design calculations, notes, reports, and general correspondence is essential. You should also be able to present your understanding of how other building engineering factors may influence the successful implementation of your design ideas.
You will be conversant with Eurocodes and leading industry analysis and design software, have an in-depth knowledge of both Tekla and Revit, have experience of working within a 3D design environment, and possess the ability to work to BIM protocols.
This role would suit a Chartered (or near Chartered) Structural Engineer with a minimum of 7 years post-graduate UK experience.
This position offers a flexible work-from-home policy and a unique opportunity to grow your own team in the future.
